Seeking a Nurse Practitioner specializing in Occupational Health Presbyterian Healthcare Services is a locally owned, not-for-profit organization based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The Occupational Health clinic offers a full range of? services to employees within Presbyterian Healthcare Services. This position would be the clinical lead of Employee Health whose job is to assure that the clinic achieves its goals in the areas of clinical quality, employee safety, satisfaction of employed and volunteer patients, and to assure the success, satisfaction and coordination of care of the providers at the clinic. Must work very closely and collaborate with the Clinic Manager who has accountability for clinic operations.? Provides professional occupational health nursing services following established standards and practices. Responsibilities Evaluation and treatment of work-related injuries and illnesses with an extended scope of practice, overlapping the practice of medicine under Standardized Procedure Guidelines, as set forth in the New Mexico Nurse Practice Act.? Works in coordination and collaboration with the Nurse Case Manager Workers? Compensation. Patient treatment is focused on early intervention, best practice medicine, to avoid medically unnecessary disability and get patients back to function, back to work. In coordination with the Manager of Employee Health creates an environment that motivates clinic staff to provide excellent care and service to patients in order to enhance patient experience. Provides pre-placement and Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examinations. Develops and performs health surveillance programs to increase employee workplace safety and decrease work related injuries. Evaluates employees? ability to return to work and fitness for duty in collaboration with the employee?s primary healthcare provider. Acts as a resource for the system on employee health and safety issues, collaborating with Safety, Infection Control, and Quality departments. Participates in system wide health management initiatives using the organizations process improvement systems. Assists in establishing and monitoring quality assurance in the clinic. Provides direct patient care in a clinical setting in addition to their responsibilities as a provider leader. Assumes responsibility and accountability for time management, professional relationships, and interpersonal interactions within the CARES Commitments and Promise. Celebrates provider/team successes through recognition systems, values diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Ensures provider engagement by removing barriers and fostering an environment that allows providers to focus on practicing quality medicine. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, literature review, in-services and workshops.
